Clark & Sally Van Wick

Senior Pastor / Women's Ministry

Clark Van Wick

Clark Van Wick grew up in Orange County, California. Although he received salvation as a young boy, it was not until 1982 when he truly began living for the Lord. It was also at this time when he met and married his wife, Sally. Clark and Sally became part of the fellowship at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, where they grew in the Lord, and began serving in the Children’s Ministry. In 1989, Clark, Sally, and their two sons moved from Orange County to Temecula, where the Lord put it on Clark’s heart to attend Bible College in Vista. Simultaneously, the Lord opened the door for Clark to lead a home Bible study. It began as a small group of people meeting to study the Word, and share Christ’s love with one another. However, within a year, the once small group had grown substantially, and group members asked Clark to change the meeting day to Sunday, and become their pastor. This was the most humbling experience of Clark’s life, but he accepted, knowing this is where the Lord called him. Shortly thereafter, the property for Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship was purchased in Temecula Wine Country, where the congregation meets today. Aside from pastoring the Bible fellowship, Clark is also an instructor at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, and often speaks at conferences, events, and retreats. Clark has a passion for Israel, and leads a group of pastors and congregation members through a Biblical tour of the Holy Land twice a year. In his spare time, Clark enjoys studying the Word, surfing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dave & Heather Cope

Associate Pastor

Pastor Dave accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of ten at an Assembly of God church in La Mesa California. He became heavily involved in youth groups, and throughout high school was greatly influenced by his youth pastor’s love for Jesus. Dave realized that there was a calling on his life to serve in youth ministries, although the door was not immediately open.

In his early 20s, Dave asked for God’s direction in his life and prayed specifically for a bride. Two weeks later, he met Heather, and they were married just a few months later in the winter of 1989. They settled in Temecula in 1999, and began attending the Barn in 2000. They were so thankful to finally be under the teaching of the Word. At this time, God lead them to volunteer in the Children’s Ministry where they taught Sunday School for the 3-5 year olds. In 2002, they began serving in the Junior High Ministry. In July 2008, Pastor Dave was ordained a minister and began serving full-time in the Youth Ministry.

Sam and Karla Young

Bereavement Pastor

Samuel and Karla Young have been married for 35 years and have attended CCBF since 2006.

While both were raised by Christian parents, each went through their own personal challenges as they discovered what living a life for God through Christ really looks like.  Sam is a retired Navy Captain and Oral Surgeon and he truly has a heart to serve others. He completed the Ministry Intern Training Program in January 2013 and found his place of service with the Bereavement Ministry and the Usher Ministry. Recently ordained on Sept 1, 2021, his heart to serve the Lord through serving His people remains constant.

Karla has been “employed” by Sam and their children since 1989. She worked herself out of the position of homeschooling their two children in 2006. (They graduated, she didn’t do away with them), She then started Academic Associates Reading Clinic, which she operated as a Reading Instruction Specialist, for 12 years. She serves in the Hospitality Ministry, Women’s prayer, and supports Sam in the Bereavement Ministry.  Karla has been actively involved with Garden Path Ministries since 2006, which was a ministry teaching and preparing women prisoners to return to society.  Both Sam and Karla are still actively involved with Garden Path Ministries distribution of food to seniors and families each month. Service to others is an important part of their ministry.

Anthony & Christine Albizu

High School Pastor

Anthony and Christine both grew up not knowing the Lord. It wasn’t until Anthony was invited to a Christian camp in 2012, when he was 21 years old, that he gave his life to the Lord. From then on Anthony grew to have a love for the Lord and His Word. Anthony and Christine met at the end of  2012 it was then that Anthony shared Jesus with Christine and she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Soon after, both enrolled in Bible college at Liberty University. From then on they grew in the Lord together and were married in 2015. They have four children: Alina, Emma, Jonah, and Sophia.

Ever since they were saved, the Lord put the youth on their hearts to serve them and show them the love of Christ. After attending several churches in the Temecula Valley area, the Lord brought them to the Barn in 2014. Anthony began serving in the usher ministry until an opportunity opened for him to teach in the high school ministry. We are loving every minute of being able to minister and love on the youth here at the Barn.

In the summer of 2007 at a family Bible study, at 12 years old, both he and his cousin, confess that Jesus is Lord and that was raised from the dead. After he graduated High School, he went into the US Army. When he got out, he came back to Murrieta and started looking for a home church. After some years of searching, he eventually found Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship and made it his home.
